American Modernism

AMERİCAN MODERNISM
-American modernism, like modernism in general, is a trend of thought that affirms the power of human beings to create, improve, and reshape their environment, with the aid of scientific knowledge, technology and practical experimentation, and is thus in its essence both progressive and optimistic.
-David Harvey’s definition of modernism, in his book ‘The Condition Of Postmodernity’ is grunded in and evolves from Baudelaire’s essay.
  FRAGMENTATİON
-Related to the theme of destruction is the theme of fragmentation. Fragmentation in modernist literature is thematic, as well as formal. Plot, characters, theme, images, and narrative form itself are broken. Take, for instance, T.S. Eliot's "The Waste Land," which depicts a modern waste land of crumbled cities.
SOCİAL EVİLS
-Modernist novels did not treat lightly topics about social woes, war and poverty. John Steinbeck's "Grapes of Wrath" frankly depicts families plagued by economic hardship and strife, contradicting idyllic depictions of American life represented elsewhere in literature.
-Modernist novels also reflect a frank awareness of societal ills and of man's capacity for cruelty. Ernest Hemingway's anti-heroic war tales depicted the bloodiness of the battlefields, as he dealt frankly with the horrors of war.
-The romantısm was playing important role for to taking shape of America.
-There is a important material for American modernism ; “DEHUMANİZATİON OF İNDUSTRİALİZATİON”
-And three points are important; Emotional, Passional and İrrational.
-The Artists should be anarchist and intelligent.
-Edgar Allan Poe; “ghosts, Fairies, Witches, Demons”.
-The Artists should be philosopher and the destiny not interested them.
-The existence of God is  seeking in nature.
-The Modernism is reject of materialism.

VANITY FAIR BY WILLIAM MAKEPEACE

Thackeray BIography of WIllIam Makepeace William Thackeray was born in Calcutta, India. His father, Richmond Thackeray, was a secretary to the board of revenue in the British East India Company. His mother, Anne Becher, sent him to England for his education when his father died in 1815. He eventually attended the Charterhouse School, which he despised and later parodied as "Slaughterhouse" in his fiction. It was here that his first writing appeared, in the publications The Snob and The Gownsman . His matriculation to Trinity College was delayed by illness, and he dropped out in 1830. Over the next six years, Thackeray led a scattered and irresponsible life. He traveled all over Europe and met Goethe in Weimar. Islam Kills Racism – Malcolm X

Islam Kills Racism – Malcolm X I think a lot of people are confused by the new Arabic name, El Hajj Malik El Shabazz…. I’ve always had the name… on my passport, Malik El Shabazz… only I only used it in the Muslim world, well Hajj is a title that is given to any Muslim who make the Pilgrimage to Makkah during the official Hajj season… one thing that I found in all of my travels was that all of the Africans… not only the Africans… But the Asians, the Muslims… Look upon us as their long lost brothers, and America had actually tricked many of them into hands of policy, by giving them the impression that “She” was honestly trying to do something to solve the problem… My argument over there was designed to prove that it is impossible, for the United States Government to solve the race problem. “Never have I witnessed such sincere hospitality and overwhelming spirit of true brotherhood as is practiced by people of all colors and races…. Here in this ancient Holy Land, the home of Abrah...
